Born and raised in El Salvador, I have lived and studied in Cuba, Spain and the United States, where I earned a doctorate and post doctorate degree in Geography from the University of California at Berkeley. My current research explores how dance articulates crucial meanings related to gender, race, class, and sexual difference.

Trained in a wide gamma of dances, including Afro-Caribbean, Afro-Brazilian, modern-contemporary and ballroom, I specialize in Latin American rhythms with an emphasis on cultural meaning.

I currently teach, perform and study dance in the San Francisco Bay Area.
